Talk about working under unique circumstances — Zendaya and John David Washington recently finished filming a secret movie titled Malcolm & Marie during the COVID-19 off.
Deadline gave the news on Wednesday, July 8,informing that Zendaya come to The euphoria creator of Sam Levinson to write the project, after the production of his HBO series was closed in March due to the pandemic. The 23-year-old actress was asked if the director would be able to write and direct a film during the quarantine and Levnison had the project ready in six days later.
After Levinson insured Principle star of Washington for the role of Malcolm, the filming took place between June 17 to July 2 in the Caterpillar of the House, which is described as a “environmentally-conscious glass marvel of architecture.” The producers of the film, which includes Levinson’s production partner and wife of Ashley Levinson and Kevin Turin, worked in close collaboration with doctors, lawyers, WGA, DGA, the SAG, and to comply with all the requirements necessary for the movie legally in the production. Numerous precautions were taken during production to ensure the health of the cast, the crew, and several people on set, including a two-week quarantine before filming began, the cast and crew have their own individual houses with air-conditioning units, the tests, in the parking lot, and the temperature controls at the beginning and at the end of each day. Within a full summary of all the measures of security adopted, and it is fair to say that the production worked hard to ensure the well-being of all.
An official synopsis of the film has not been released, but the Deadline described the film as “some echoes” of Netflix’s The Marriage Of The Story, while the incorporation of social issues related to what the world is experiencing right now. The euphoria director of photography Marcell Rév and the production designer, Michael Grasley were also involved in the project, so that however the story plays out, it is sure to be beautiful. And to add to that belief, Zendaya confirmed the project with a photo of the film on his Twitter account. The actress is seen leaning on Washington as he reclines against the side of what appears to be a bed.

It looks especially romantic, but if you remember, The Marriage Of The Story it wasn’t exactly a happy-go-lucky love story. For all we know, this scene could be a tense confrontation between the lovers! It is all a mystery, but there is one thing that we know with certainty — we can’t wait to see what it is!
