Netflix dropped the official trailer of the second season of The Umbrella Academyand it does more than give fans a first look at what the Hargreeves have come up since that fateful time jump at the end of the season an account a new original song of Gerard Way!
Way is the lead singer of My Chemical Romance and also happens to be the co-creator of The Umbrella Academy graphic novels along with artist Gabriel Ba. “I was inspired to write this track when a series of The Umbrella Academy were filming,” the singer said in a statement. “In the time that I finished the year 2020 was in full swing, the world had taken a deep turn and the song was completed in a surreal new reality.”
It is an appropriate theme considering the new season is all about the Hargreeves landing in a surreal new reality that you did not expect. The trailer reveals that when Five used their powers to save his family from the Vania-induced apocalypse in the year 2019, ended up scattering them, in the time around Dallas, TX. Is separated over three years, beginning in 1960 and to all the winds of life very different lives. Luther, illegal boxing, Diego is trapped in an asylum, Allison is thick in the Civil Rights Movement, Klaus has started a cult (and Ben is still sick of your sh*t), and Vania is . . . apparently living your best life, really. Five discovers that he and his brothers have brought the end of the world, beginning in 2019 with them and now he has to find a way of bringing everyone together to stop the end of the world (again!) and return to your original time.
