Will Smith is using his voice to empower the youth activists and raise awareness of the importance of the message behind the Black Lives Matter movement. In an interview with political commentator Angela Rye on his podcast One With Angela RyeSpoke publicly for the first time about the murders of Ahmaud Arbery, George Floyd, and Breonna Taylor. “We are in a circumstance that we have never been before,” He said. “The whole world stood up and said to the african-american people, ‘We see and hear. How can we help? We have never been there before.”
During the interview, He explained that today the arguments about the injustice of racial mother of the historically inaccurate representation of the Black community, and an alarming lack of knowledge about the true history of the united states. “What the f*cking point of contention?” He wondered, pointing out that communication is the key when it comes to understanding one another. “The problem is not completely in the system. The problem is in the hearts and minds of the people. It demands that our attention begin in our hearts and minds.”

Also opened up about his experience growing up in Philadelphia and attending Catholic school, where she witnessed first-hand the disparities between white and Black interactions with the police. “The rage is justified under the oppression. You can also be very dangerous,” He said. “You have to be careful not to be consumed by his own rage, and that is something that I’ve worked very hard . . . Peaceful protests put a mirror to the demonic, the power of his oppressor . . . I was very encouraged by the strength of this generation was able to hold the mirror up, and then the response of this world to see and respond.”
The Grammy-award-winning actor added that he has made that the focus of your career to project a positive image of Black men in roles of power and to instill hope in the minds of the children. “More than ever, we need to understand the reality of where we come from,” He said. Most recently, He played the lead role of Peter in the upcoming film The emancipationa period drama that follows the journey of a man enslaved as he fights for his freedom.
Moving forward, it Is expected to continue with the inspiration of the younger generation and to continue to participate actively in the struggle for racial equality in the united states. “Do not succumb to apathy no matter how much evil you face, because [then] you poison yourself and poison to their own community,” He said. “I am pledging my undying devotion to the evolution of my community and of the evolution of my country, and ultimately the world toward greater harmony that we will be able to create.” See the full interview with Angela above.
