Your Spotify podcast of the library is about to get a major power-up. On Thursday, the streaming giant announced a multiyear deal with Warner Bros and DC comics to produce a list of in the script, narrative podcasts based on your favourite superheroes. The shows will be available exclusively on Spotify premium and free users.
“Spotify’s deep engagement with their consumers and with the commitment to prioritize your podcast vertical becomes an ideal partner in this effort,” said Warner Bros executives Robert Steele and Peter Girardi said in a joint statement. “We are very pleased to bring beloved characters and franchises of DC and Warner Bros in this new world and to use our narrative ability to redefine what is possible in the script of audio in the space.”
So what is in store for DC devotees? The companies have not revealed that the people will be the focus of upcoming projects, but it is difficult to imagine the iconic characters of Batman, Wonder Woman and Superman will not be part of the action. Us do I know that there will be never-before-heard crossover event, which already sounds pretty epic.
