On Friday, the sister duo Chloe x Halle appeared in The Show Of Kelly Clarkson to talk about his album Ungodly Hour. After that Kelly fangirled about the couple (and vice versa), the host spoke to the women to decide to push the release of their album in honor of George Floyd and as “the interpretation of this moment in our country”.
“People deserve to live a beautiful and long life as all the others.”
Without losing a second, Halle replied, “Well, the first couple of weeks, when all that was happening, we were definitely very sad and I feel like collectively, in our community, of our black brothers and sisters, it is as this collective feeling of trauma when something like that happens. Because for me, personally, I think of my little brother. We think of our father. That could have been them. Therefore, we are trying to do everything we can and continue to lift each other with our voices and demand justice for what is right.” She then went on to say, “[The] the color of our skin should not be a death sentence. People deserve to live a beautiful and long life as all the others.” Check out the clip above to hear Chloe x Find the thoughts of Michelle Obama being one of their biggest fans, Beyoncé does not have “notes” on his album, and Halle’s next role in the The Little Mermaid.
