Rachel McAdams and Will Ferrell are the musical duo we never knew we needed in Netflix the Eurovision Song contest: The Story of the Fire of the Saga. In the film, which hits the streaming service on 26 June, McAdams and Ferrell play an Icelandic duo named Sigrit Ericksdottir and Lars Erickssong that are competing in the holder eurovision song contest. And based on the music video for “the Volcano Man,” we are in some of-the-best interpretations.
While Ferrell lends his voice to the series, McAdams is not really the singing. Instead, their parts are sung by the Swedish singer Molly Sandén, who is recognized by his middle name of My Marianne. Interestingly, Sandén really competed in the Junior Eurovision Song contest in the year 2006, where he came in third place. She, finally, went on to compete in the Melodifestivalen, which determines Sweden’s representative for the Eurovision song contest, in 2009, 2012 and 2016.
It is not clear if McAdams is going to sing any other songs in the film, but we’re definitely curious to hear the rest of the soundtrack. In the meantime, see Lars Erickssong and Sigrit Ericksdottir is hilarious music video for “Volcano Man” ahead.
