Nick Robinson of Simon Spier stole our hearts while tripping in her way of love that, in 2018, of the book to the film adaptation of Love, Simonand Michael Cimino is ready to do the same thing on Hulu spin-off of the series, Love, Victor. Cimino’s Victor is a new student at Creekwood high School who, like Simon, is on a journey of self-discovery. And who better to guide him as he struggles with challenges at home, to adapt to a new city, and exploring its identity as the same Simon?

That is correct, Robinson brings Simon back to our screens as the jiminy Cricket of Victor Pinocchio. The student of the university connects with Victor, when this angry arrives on Instagram after a disastrous first day at school. The use of direct messages instead of emails, Simon acts as a mentor and confidant of Victor as he comes to terms with her various relationships and how he identifies himself. When Simon mentions how he was able to find an open mind of the community as an undergraduate in the City of New York, Victor jumps on a bus to visit him. Simon is initially absent due to a cousin of the bachelor parties, which leaves Victor in the hands of her boyfriend, Bram (again played by The Flash‘s Keiynan Lonsdale), and his celebrity with the face of friends, including 13 Reasons Why‘s Tommy Dorfman.

Bram and the crew to help Victor realize that there is no shame in being out and proud and help him find the confidence that is becoming a person. Just when the night seems like it’s going to go drastically wrong, Simon himself is shown to give Victor a talk that renews your courage and emboldens him to tell his family the truth when he returns home. And in a truly heartwarming callback to the original film, Simon presents Victor with its classic denim jacket, telling him that Bram had threatened to destroy him if he stays around. It is a very sweet moment that essentially translates to Robinson passing the torch to Cimino, who continues the Love, Simon universe and sets Victor free to continue his journey as the series progresses.
