The Cabin Of Kisses stars Joey King and Jacob Elordi met for the first time during the filming of his monster Netflix success in 2017 and it started to come out fairly quickly. These two dated about two years before calling it quits. In March of 2019 interview with Refinery29, Joey opened up about their relationship — and deal with the consequences of a break — up with Jacob, saying, “All you have to do in that moment is to turn the phone off and crawl into his sister’s bed and watch Friends with it, because when you’re going through something and the world wants to go through it with you or [wants] to get every piece of detail from you about it, it is very difficult. Some of these things are only meant for you.”
Joey and Jacob’s break came before the two met for the film A Kiss In The Booth 2 at the end of the summer of 2019. Because we do not know exactly when the relationship ended, we can not be sure of how fresh the wounds were of these two, when they had to come back together to be a couple again, but Joey seemed to think that it has gone well.
In November 2019, Joey was in the podcast The Mood With Lauren Elizabeth and we talked a bit about the new movie. It is called working with Jacob a “sacrifice” that had to do. “Play Elle Evans was actually one of the best experiences of my life. Kissing Booth there’s always going to be one of my favorite experiences I’ve ever had, so getting to jump back in it was super exciting for me, but I was nervous because of how much my world had changed so far as the form of the hit comedy beats and where my mind is going.”
She added that she knew the question that everyone had — how was it working with Jacob again? And while she did not directly answer her, she says, “it was madness. It was an experience wild. But, honestly, it was a beautiful time.” She even said that the love scenes of two filmed were “good”.
