Christopher Meloni is going back to its Law & Order: SVU roots. The actor is set to reprise his beloved character of Elliot Stablerin a new NBC series created by Law And Order mastermind Dick Wolf titled Law And Order: Organized Crime. The show, which has already been ordered for 13 episodes, continue to Elliot in his new position as the head of the organized crime division of the police department. However, according to NBC, “the city and the police department have changed dramatically in the decade that it has been a journey, and he must adapt to a system of criminal justice in the midst of his own moment of truth.”

Meloni starred in Law & Order: SVU during 12 seasons before his departure in 2011. In season 13, it was revealed that his character retired from the police force, so we are interested in seeing how the new show fills in the gaps. We wonder if his former costar Mariska Hargitay will make a cameo? We’ll have to wait and see when the sequel premieres on NBC this fall.
