Saweetie Wants to Reframe the Discourse Around "B*tch" by Giving It an Empowering Meaning

Whenever Saweetie is involved, you know it’s going to be a good time, and her July 7 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show isn’t any different. While chatting with guest host Loni Love about her debut album, Pretty B*tch Music, which should be releasing in the next few weeks, Saweetie took a moment to explain the Tupac-inspired meaning behind b-i-t-c-h. “I really loved the acronym [Tupac] created for ‘Thug Life.’ So, I wanted to change the discourse and wanted my fans to know that when I say ‘b*tch,’ it stands for something,” the 28-year-old shared. “So the B stands for boss, I for independent, T for tough, C for CEO ’cause I run my own business, and I’m from the Bay, so the H means hyphy.” You can see Saweetie’s full interview, and hear about some of her famous relatives, in the video above.
