If Hulu's Happiest Season Is the Only Gift We Get This Year, We'd Be Fine With That

Taking your significant other home to meet your family is almost always nerve-racking, but add in the fact that your family doesn’t know you’re gay and you’ve got what happens to Mackenzie Davis and Kristen Stewart in Hulu’s Happiest Season. Abby (Stewart) plans to propose to Harper (Davis) during Harper’s annual family holiday party, but Abby soon learns that Harper’s been keeping their romance a secret from her family and begins to question their relationship. Naturally, traditional rom-com hijinks ensue.

“I think I’ve wished to see a gay Christmas rom-com my whole life,” Stewart previously told People. From the chemistry between Stewart and Davis to the ridiculous situations they get into, it’s no wonder people have been anxiously awaiting Happiest Season since it was first announced in 2018. With a cast that also includes Dan Levy, Mary Steenburgen, Alison Brie, Aubrey Plaza, and Victor Garber and is directed by Clea DuVall, we can’t wait for the movie’s premiere on Nov. 25. In the meantime, check out the trailer above.
