The search continues for Naya Rivera, who disappeared near Los Angeles on Wednesday. The 33-year-old actress, who is best-known for playing Santana in the former Fox television series Glee, was declared a missing person after authorities found her 4-year-old son, Josey Dorsey, alone on a boat in the middle of Lake Piru. According to NBC Los Angeles, Naya rent a pontoon boat for three hours with his son, but never returned. A search of Naya began that afternoon and resumed on Thursday morning.
At 3 pm, pacific time, July 9, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office issued a report indicates that the person is missing is that the search has been declared a recovery operation. “All the coast and the surface of the lake were highly sought after,” says the report. “The divers were also under water in the area where the boat had last been seen. However, there was no sign of Rivera.” According to a press conference with ABC7 News, Naya has been presumed dead in a possible drowningalthough no evidence has been found. “I think that it is too soon to say what happened here,” a police officer of the County of Ventura, said. “We’re still investigating. We’re still trying to figure out what happened.”
While the police continues the search for Naya, her ex Glee partners are asking fans to send their thoughts and prayers. Heather Morris — who played Naya-screen girlfriend-slash-wife in Glee — shared a heartfelt note on his Instagram History. “We need all the prayers we can bring to our Naya back home for us,” he wrote. “We need your love and light.” A handful of other companions, including Harry Shum Jr. and Chord Overstreetshe wrote on twitter that they were praying. Demi Lovato — who briefly played Naya’s love interest in season five — he also asked his followers Naya in their thoughts, writing, “Please pray for @nayarivera to be found safe and sound.”
