A lot goes down in the second season of Netflix’s dark comedy, Dead to Me. The first episode picks up right where season one left off with Jen Harding (Christina Applegate) and Judy Hale (Linda Cardellini) dealing with the fallout from Steve Wood of death. Of course, a new problem does not erase the problems of those that still have, that is to say, Judy is the confession of the murder of Jen’s husband and Judy turn Steve in to the FBI for money laundering. This means that women now have to cover the death of Steve, to keep Judy out of jail, and keep the FBI out of your way, which is not at all easy.
It doesn’t help that the second season also introduces new characters who are entangled in Jen’s and Judy’s lives, including those of Steve, “semi-identical” twin brother Ben, Judy the mother incarcerated, and his new bride, Michelle. By the time you get to the station, it feels like the only way for anyone to find any happiness is simply to tell the truth! And that almost happens — until it completes the circle cliffhanger that put a big, red stop sign right in the middle of Jen and Judy a happy ending.
