Who Is the Killer in You Should Have Known?

If you have been longing for a new psychological thriller from the end of the HBO series Big Little Liesthe network’s latest project, Perditionis here to fill that void. Written by BLL the screenwriter David E. Kelley, the new series is based on Jean Hanff Korelitz’s novel, You Should Have Known.

The story follows Grace Sachs is a successful therapist and soon-to-be author, who finds herself embroiled in a murder mystery of a mother in your child’s school is brutally murdered. In the middle of it all, it is your adoring husband who thus is going to miss at the start of the research. While Grace surprisingly discovers dark secrets of her husband’s past, she quickly realizes that her perfect family is not so perfect.

They are hanging on the edge of your seat yet? The adaptation stars Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant and will premiere May 10. While the series is likely to deviate from the novel exact of the plot (which did change its name after all), you may be curious to know what happens in the book. Read on for all the spoilers, including the biggest one of them all: it is Grace’s husband, in fact, the murderer?

The Murder

The grace I could not be more proud that his son Henry attends a private academy in Manhattan, New York — let’s say the fact that it is your alma mater, so that when the school is in search of volunteers for its annual auction, Grace jumps at the opportunity. On the night of the auction, the Grace is said Malaga would like to have a word with her, but she never confronts Grace. Soon after, Grace learns of Malaga has been violently murdered and her husband is a suspect. His strange disappearance is not helping your cause, nor that Grace has not been in contact with him for almost 24 hours.

The grace begins to collect a series of red flags, demonstrating their elite NYC life is not as attractive as she thought. Between the clues that are hidden condoms, the birth control of which has never been used, and which are missing are Jonathan’s clothes and his mother’s relics. On the other hand, a former colleague of his, informs Grace that Jonathan no longer works at the hospital and suggestions on the reasoning of being against sexual allegations.

The grace of the new Beginning

In an attempt to wipe the slate clean of you and your family, the security, the Grace and Henry to escape to their summer home in Connecticut. Hence, Grace is reunited with the Vita, a childhood friend, that her husband forced her shun out once they were married. (Red flag!) Grace is trying his best to make a new start, even with a new love interest, but the threat of the cloud of Jonathan’s return, remains in the shadows of the dark.

She is convinced that because of her psychopath of a husband, no one wants your advice again. To make matters worse, his new self-help book You Should Have Knownis the principle that women should know, from the moment you say “yes, I want” if you are making the right choice for a husband. In the end, no amount of money or therapy will be able to fix a marriage. The irony in all its fullness.

Trapped in a mind game of false realities, Grace embarks on a last effort, with the hope of exposing the true man Jonathan really is. She visits her family, which she has never had a relationship with him, because of Jonathan’s impression of his cruel education. Aware that Jonathan had not one, but two brothers, the Grace learns each story revolved about her family was a lie. The more shocking, the real reason why he did not get on well with his family; Jonathan, may have been responsible for his younger brother’s death.

The Letter

All signs point to Jonathan as the killer, but it is not until Grace receives a letter from Jonathan with his confession of the mystery is solved. In the letter, we learned that Jonathan had been having an affair for quite some time now with Malaga. They met while her son was undergoing treatment for the cancer in his hospital. In a short span of time, the Malaga was pregnant with his child.

To keep his two families separate, Jonathan never told Grace about the affair or the baby. Spend years worrying that Malaga will eventually come clean and trust in the Grace of it all. In a bold effort to save their marriage, and aristocratic style of life, kills to Malaga.

The Aftermath

The story comes full-circle when Jonathan’s parents, still emotionally fragile years after the death of his young son, jack Jonathan the daughter he had with Malaga. Grace becomes in his letter, which contained a track about your location, to the authorities. In the final scene, she speaks with the detective on the case and has pledged to donate all the furniture from her old apartment, happy to be rid of her old life.
