The talent certainly runs in Ben Platt of the family. The 26-year-old has made a name for himself with his acting and music career, but his father, Marc Platt, is so brilliant. In addition to producing the hit musical WickedMarc has worked in numerous successful films such as The Land, Legally Blondeand Mary Poppins Returns. While Ben clearly puts his love of theatre, of Marc, his father is inspired too, how he came to fame.
During his Netflix special Ben Platt: Live From Radio City Music Hallhe gushed about his father, saying: “I really love my dad a lot. My dad is the greatest. He is a wonderful person, and he taught me many things, not the least of which is to be a decent human being comes long before to be a decent artist. And this is only possible to be a good artist, if you are a decent human being.” He even wrote the song “In the Event that You don’t Live Forever”, from their album Sing to Me in your Place in honor of his father.
Through the years, the father-son duo has shared a handful of sweet moments together as they encourage each other in their personal efforts.
