On Thursday, ahead of his upcoming fifth album of Katy Perry launched her latest single “Daisies” with an ethereal music video set in the forest (although some fans recognize as your garden) to go along with it.
The three minute video shows Perry, wearing a white dress showing her baby bump — wandering through a romantic lit forest (or incredibly beautiful covered garden of daisies, and even take a bath in a waterfall.
“I wrote this song a couple months ago as a call to remain faithful to the course that you have set for yourself, regardless of what others may think,” Perry wrote in the Instagram post announcing the new single. “Recently, it has taken on a new meaning for me, in the light of what the entire world is experiencing. Each one of us is one more than seven billion dollars, with our own story of strength and endurance to tell you,” she added.
In March, Perry announced on his single “Never Worn White” that she is expecting her first child, a daughter, with partner Orlando Bloom. And people are already theorizing in the comments that this song may point to clues that your daughter’s name can be. “The daisie could be your daughter’s name and the song could be referring to her,” a fan wrote in the comments of YouTube. “I always like to announce things through my music, which is my main goal and everything that derives from that,” Perry said in an interview with Hits Radio this week, perhaps the support of the fan theories.
Regardless of the meanings and theories, one thing is for sure, the music video is as beautiful as the solo, and we can’t wait to hear the album, which will be on sale at the end of this summer.
