In 2007, radio stations across the country were rocked by Aly & AJ’s “Potential Breakup Song,” and on Thursday, the singing duo took us on a blast to the past with a surreal TikTok video announcing the release of their new album. “It took too long, it took too long, it took too long for us to Tik Tok #potentialbreakup #potentialbreakupsong #alyandaj #newalbumcomingsoon,” they captioned the post. New. Album. Coming. Soon. No matter how long it’s taken the sisters to come out with a new studio album — 13 years, to be exact — we are psyched!

The duo’s two newest releases, “Attack of Panic” and “Joan of Arc on the Dancefloor,” might be a taste of what we have to expect on the upcoming album, which currently has no release date, but we’ll just have to wait to find out for sure. During the announcement video, Aly & AJ also treated us to a lip-sync performance of “Potential Breakup Song” in front of a space-themed green screen that was reminiscent of their Insomniatic album cover. Check out the hilarious and nostalgic performance for yourself here.
