If the star of Fox’s new reality show Labor of Love looks familiar, there’s a good reason for it. Kristy Katzman, the 41-year-old woman in the center of the show, was in fact The Bachelor’s Degree In several years ago. Do you remember which season it was in?
Kristy first appeared on our screens way back in 2007, when he competed for Brad Womack in the heart of the season 11 The Bachelor’s Degree In. She was 29 years old at the time and listed his occupation as “acupuncturist.” In that season, he ended up making it to week five before being eliminated. Of course, Brad in the season he spent in Bachelor’s degree the story in the weeks following his elimination: he became the first Bachelor ever to break up with both of his final two women, instead of carrying out a post-show relationship with any of them. Then, it became the first series lead to go back for a second season, the protagonist of season 15, four years later.
Labor of Love it is the last non-conventional reality show to hit primetime. The contestants do not necessarily compete for Kristy’s heart, but for the opportunity to be the father of her child — although the romance may factor too. Deadline describes the format of the competition like this: “Each week, the aspiring parents-to-be are faced with challenges that will put your parenting and partnership skills to the test. If they are worthy, they will advance to the next week, and for those that don’t, Kristy to let her know that she does not see herself starting a family with them. After eight weeks of challenges and dating Kristy to decide if she has found the man with whom she would like to settle down and start a family, or if you prefer to continue on the path of motherhood on her own.”
Kristin Davis, one of the stars of The sex and the City, will host the series, which will premiere Thursday, May 21 at 9 pm on Fox.
