Billy Porter Overall Objective: to Unite for Our Future Discourse

Billy Porter offered some words of encouragement during the Overall objective: Unite for Our Future event on Saturday. Reflecting on the LGBTQ+ and the Black Lives Matter movement, 50 years of age, the actor discussed the impact of the older activists, saying: “From Mrs. Rosa Parks to Malcolm to Martin, as well as the transgender activist Marsha P. Johnson, who courageously stood at the forefront at Stonewall in 1969, I will always be grateful to all those who fought to get where we are today, and it depends on us to keep on fighting.” Then he praised the younger generation to keep pushing for social justice, adding that “The world is changing before our eyes, and it is a beautiful thing to see. None of us are promised tomorrow, so we need to take action and keep pushing to make the world a better place for all of us today.”
