What would it be Scream without Sidney Prescott? Fortunately, what seems to be a reality of fear-film fans do not have to deal with, as Neve Campbell recently revealed she has been in talks to revive the iconic character for Scream 5reported in early development at Spyglass. “We’re having conversations,” the actress told Rotten Tomatoes. “I’ve been contacted about it.”
Ready or Not directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are scheduled to direct the fifth installment, and Campbell said it had been “negotiate” their participation only at the beginning of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, which has had an obvious effect on the entertainment industry in general. Campbell said, “We just started the conversation maybe a month and a half ago, so it’s going to take some time to find out how it’s all going to work out.”
Campbell also hinted that she felt that the administration was going to do right by the franchise of the brain, the end of Wes Craven. “The two directors wrote me a very touching letter about Wes Craven and how he was an inspiration to them and the way they really want to honor him, and that meant a big, big problem for me,” said Campbell. “So we will see. Let’s hope that we can all see eye to eye on the project and find a way to do it.”
